Going up the CN Tower in Toronto

If you go  anywhere within the city of Toronto, chances are you can see the CN tower in the distance. Every major city in the world has something to punch the skies in the face.

Teh CN tower is 553.33M (1815.4 Feet) tall, for 30 years the CN Tower was the worlds tallest freestanding tower in the world until the Burj Khalifa in Dubai came and took the cake. Since then the CN Tower now ranks at #5.

It was May 2010 when i went to Toronto. The first thing I wanted to do in Toronto was go up the CN tower. In America I had already been up the Empire State Building, The Rockefeller Building and The Statue of Liberty. Canada was not going to miss out on myself going up one of their tall building.

I waited until sunset to go visit the CN Tower. I was staying at a local hostel on East King Street for a few night. I could even see the CN tower from the Dormitory window.

I prepaid my ticket online. In 2010 it costed over $20CAN to go up the CN tower and in 2015 it now cost $29.00 to go up there. But if you book  online not only do you save yourself a  few Toonies ($2CAN) but you get to skip the Q https://tickets.cntower.ca/Webstore/Content.aspx?Kind=LandingPage

Operating the lift was an amazing Afro-Canadian guy. He told me allot of history about the Tower within the few minutes in the elevator. When the elevator goes up and down the tower, colors change and you can see them change on the outside of the tower

When i got to the top of the CN tower i spent a great 30 minutes of my time just walking around the observatory. After my shitty experience with the top of the Empire State Building, i refused to go to the top of the CN tower. I just enjoyed my time reading about how tall the CN tower is and that I was 15,000KM away from my home in Sydney Australia

I couldn't help by amuse myself by jumping on the glass floor. Its enough to make anyone freak out. But according to science the glass floor could hold the weight of a bunch of grown adult elephants.

It was amazing to go up the CN tower at night and walk outside into the caged area. It was very cold, windy but still awesome. Summer was around the corner. There was a baseball game happening while I was outside. I think I am used to watching sporting events from 500M above the  ground.

In my advice the CN tower is a bit of tourist trap. But if you can get in for free then its worth it.
