Voivod, Lee Aaron, Toxik, Syteria, Idestroy, Hands Off Gretel & JoanovArc. Today there was a clash of two legendary Metal bands of the 1980's & 90's playing in the one British City.
Living Colour in London Uni
Saint Vitus in the Underworld
I had previously seen Living Colour when I lived in Sydney 2014. Seeing Living Colour @ a Sidewave was a great show. I even met the whole band afterwards and told them how I had waited 8 bloody long years to see that band. But tonight I just wanted to see Saint Vitus.
Back in July 2013, I had returned to Sydney because I was too scared and not ready to be living in the UK. This was the start of my 17 months bullshit long stint where I didn't leave Sydney, I didn't see my father, I jumped from Job to Job, I started a zero hour contract at a religious function centre, I was paying for sex and I feel out with religion.
Now why I am bringing up the subject of religion & Saint Vitus? Well, the band came to Australia in July 2013 and I really wanted to go see that band Saint Vitus. But Jerry the Youth Leader at St.Michaels Catholic Church Baulkham Hills was pestering me to help him out on the night of Saint Vitus.
I was depressed in life after giving up my UK Dream. So I just went ahead and did Youth Group work @ the church. I spent the whole of 2013 helping out at a fucked up church. I did the Projector on Sunday but no CUNT wanted to put up there hand and do it. I set up those stupid Night in the Old Church events, but no Catholic Wanker wanted to talk to me.
I gave up my UK life and Heavy Metal gigs so I could help out a scumbag church in Sydney's bible belt of The Hills District. When 2014 came along I fell out with that Church and I lost a lot of friends. Its all because I would rather have sex with mature women over 50 than get married or have children.
Fast forward to 2017 I had finally achieved my dreams of living in the UK and I still did my roving reporting on gigs in whatever city I was living in. I wanted to redeem myself by seeing Saint Vitus in London.
I got to the Underworld before the band got on stage. When the band launched into their first song. I couldn't understand why there was no WINO on stage. I knew he got bust in Norway back in 2014 for carrying weed!
Browsing the Saint Vitus website on my android brick tells me that Wino is no longer in the band.
Instead, there was Scott Reagers on Vocals. He has sung on: "Saint Vitus", "Hallow's victim", "The walking dead" EP & "Die Healing". Wino, on the other hand, has only sung on "Born Too Late", "Lillie: F-65" & "V". Henry Vasquez is on Drums, Patrick Bruders (who replaced Red Brown in Down) is on Bass and the man at the helm of this band
Dave Chandler on guitar
I was standing in front of Dave Chandler throughout the gig. I was very impressed with his pedal board and rig. But the problem is I could hardly hear anything that was coming out of Scotts Microphone. Later on in the night, I could hear Scott as I stepped back into the crowd but it was so shit not to be able to hear his voice over the PA.
Standing right in front of Lee Aaron last July made me hear her loud and clear. She didn't have any Mic problems (apart from the chord falling off during the first song!) But the Underworld has a sound system that allot of people I know of have complained about it. So maybe it was some technical problems with the PA but the gig went from start to finish.
It was funny to see Scott drinking out of a Mug after every song. Its like he was drinking a fucking cup of tea!
Setlist covered stuff from "Saint Vitus", "Hallow's Victim", "Die Healing" AND "Born Too Late" plus a new song Bloodshed.
I admire Saint Vitus for bringing back Scott and pushing on without Wino. But one day I want to see Wino
