I don’t think I would ever go to Madrid. I would assume that there are less scammers in Rabat, but after the tragic shooting at the War memorial in Ottawa in October 2014, I feel like I need to make a visit to the Canadian capital.
I started the day by walking up the road. I stopped off at all the local stores buying some food as I felt like I was putting money in their pockets. The national Monument of Indonesia was one of the most important thing I had wanted to see in Jakarta.
Its right bang in the middle of Jakarta near Gambi station and was made to honour Indonesian independence from the Dutch.. It started getting built around the 1950 but it wasn’t completed until after Sukarto fell from power. People call it Sukartos LAST ERECTION
I walked through Gambi Station and had to walk around it to get into the National Monument as it was all fenced off. You do see allot of people living in the gutters in this area but its just seems they are happy.
When I got into the ground (through a one small gate) I paid 10,000 rupiah to a guy selling iced tea. Some guy was trying to sell me 150,000 rupiah worth of postcards and I was like DUDE I ONLY WANT ONE FOR MY MILF FRIEND! And it wasn’t just one postcard it was like 15 of them.
I was putting my shoes with the shoe keeper where the local guide notice my presence. He said oh you’re a tourist come with me. He took me into the office that had a Japanese family. I was made to sign the guestbook and put on a robe.
The Muslims did not make me wash my feet or legs at all. The tour started as we walked round the hall as our guide explained allot about religion. I got to have a photograph of me in the Muslim robe.
The national mosque in Jakarta is one of the largest in the South East Asia region. As Islam is the dominating religion of Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei
I hung around the hostel for a bit before I took the bus back to Jakarta airport with an Afro-Scottish lady called Hannah. I had to wait outside for 2 hours to know what gate to enter and go through security. Once I was able to check into my Jetstar flight I had to pay 150,000 rupiah to departure. The guy asked me if I was coming back to Jakarta. I told him: "no need to, I’m going to Malaysia"
People should not be so fucking picky about one way tickets to nations like Singapore or Malaysia. They share a land border that can be crossed for only $2 to travel across the causeway.
I got stamped out of Indonesia and made my way to the gate. I was not going to miss this flight even after all the joy I have had in Indonesia for less than 48 hours.
