I have pretty much seen everything I wanted to in Dili, so today is pretty much a rest day. I had to stay in Timor Leste for 3.5 days because I wanted to make an impact on its tourism section. They did get the $30 out of me and I spend about $100 in one nation on food, transport, accommodation and gifts.
I went to mass at the nearby church. It was packed and I was forced to sit outside on plastic chairs. I went in to have communion even though I AM NOT A PRACTICING CATHOLIC! Plus I haven’t been to church in 7 months but I felt like I needed to go Church.
With not much to do I went to Timor Plaza and just brought some sweet waffles and ice cold coffee. I can’t really say I like Timorese food as the only Timorese food experience I have is 2 chicken skewers with Chili sauce but it was really nice.
One time at work Dirce served up chicken with Potato Chips and she said it was PORTUGESE STYLE
I have had to withdraw some USD because it’s going to cost $35 USD to get into Indonesia, $20 for Cambodia and $35 for Laos and USD will be the only currency used in Cambodia and Myanmar
As a first time to Dili Timor I couldn’t see myself traveling around the country to places like the Osseci Enclave, Atauro Island and Balbo because all I needed to see was Dili and I am ever so grateful that I came here
Maybe next time I’ll cross the Indonesian/Timorese border from Kupang or vice versa.
