Journal Of A Metalhead
My name is Martin Anthony. I’m a young man living the dream of being a Metalhead.
In 2010 I left home for six weeks to take a solo trip of a lifetime to visit the United States and Canada.
For those six weeks, I was on my own, achieving a lifelong goal to visit North America.
For six weeks I went across North America to visit eight great cities. In these six weeks I was able to see the sights I had wanted to visit, watch the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal bands I wanted to see and understand what being alone with only $5000 on tour is like.
I survived a bomb threat in Times Square, walked through freeways to get to a Winger gig, dodged a jaywalking fine by a NYPD officer, shook hands with Ann and Nancy Wilson, walked the streets and avenues of Manhattan, crawled on my hands and feet to visit Lady Liberty and had a brush with Pornstar Carol Cox in Montreal. This is my Journal.
Journal Of A Metalhead (Volume II)
Martin Anthony returns again with his journal of thoughts from a 19 day trip to Europe, Africa and Asia.
It was all done on my shoestring and everything went off without a hitch.
This 19 day holiday took me to nations that I never thought I would end up visiting, but it also gave me inspiration that one day I would find my Father’s family.
I attended Hellfest 2011 to see Scorpions live, visited 3 Micro-States of Europe (Monaco, San Marino and Andorra) in 3 days, I found my Cousin Charles in London and fell in love with the city of Birmingham.
Along the way I dealt with missed coach connections, expensive fares, fascists train conductors and Moroccan faux guides.
At the end of my June 2011 trip, my tally of nations went from 4 to 15 in only a matter of 2 weeks.
During March 2012, Olivia Newton-John performed 3 concerts at the world famous Sydney Opera House. I was lucky enough to attend the first concert.
I didn't attend this concert to see Olivia Newton-John perform. I attended this concert so I could watch ex-Danger Danger guitarist Andy Timmons perform.
This concert was one of a unique concert I went to.
I was headbanging during the rock songs, raising the horns every now and then, I yelled out "DANGER DANGER" every 3rd song and I even feel asleep twice during the boring songs.
This is what happens when a Metalhead goes undercover at the Sydney Opera House
