In the middle of the city, on the outskirts of Newtown is a small bar they like to call Hermann’s. It’s across the road from Sydney University and in walking distance from Central Station. So you avoid getting stabbed in Redfern.
I got there after 8pm to watch a band play where I felt that the lead singer forgot that he was in a metal band and he was acting like a Hardcore Punk singer. Also what kinda fool likes to put something like SOOT all over their ugly face.
In the middle of the night it was time for Bastardizer to hit the stage. With a patriotic music blaring all over the PA it was time to enjoy some “Bastards, Bullets, Bitches and Beer”
The smaller the venue, the better the sound is but apart from that Bastardizer was playing everyone else off stage. After seeing that band some 6 times in less than 2 years id have to say that was their best performance I had witnessed.
It was great to hear “Up the Ante” again along with all the classics and even some kinda MANOWAR track as their cover
I was glad that I did take time out from my family and my free time to go to a small metal gig in town. It’s my last gig in Sydney before I go overseas again. Hopefully Bastardizer will get to tour South East Asia after i get back in Feb.
